Emotional Bonds
RECENT ADVANCES IN
AFFECTIVE AND SOCIAL COGNITIVE SCIENCE
In the last 30 years, cognitive science has undergone a “social-affective turn”, which has resulted in a whole host of ground-breaking discoveries on emotions, moods, social norms, and morality. In this series of events, a number of distinguished, international scholars will present their current research on social and affective cognition. Given the interdisciplinary nature of this research field, these events will be of great interest for students and scholars across humanities, social sciences, as well as medical and natural sciences.
Each event will focus around a theme, with a reading group, a talk with a Q&A session, and a seminar with the speaker. The reading group will take place a roughly a week before the main event, and will be lead by a PhD student from the University of Sheffield. The talk with Q&A and the seminar with the speaker will take place on the same date.
We welcome anyone to participate in these events, and it is not necessary to come to all! For the seminars with the speakers, we welcome primarily undergraduate and postgraduate students to participate.
